SCIENCE CLUBS :

    

Annual Science Exhibition was conducted on 12th October 2007 in which 225 students presented their innovative models. Dr. V.Balasubramanian, Director, Kanchi Mamunivar Centre for Post Graduate Studies inaugurated the exhibition and explained to the students about the importance of developing scientific attitude.

             On 15th October 2007, in a special function organized by science clubs, Rev.Fr. Maria Joseph, Manager, Mission Press, Puducherry distributed prixes for the students who prepared best exhibits.

Petit Seminaire had the privilege of presenting two science projects in State Level Children’s Science Congress.

              K.Nirmal of 10th A presented the project “Mosquito menace in Lawspet and Thattanchavady” with four of his team members A.Kevin, C.Komala Shankaran, S.Jayakumar and V.Prasanna Kumar.

Along with the guide teacher Mr. G.Jayaraj, this project was presented in the National Science Congress held at Pune.

             On 30th November 2007, another science exhibition was arranged exclusively by primary school children in the Oupalam premises. Thiru. G.Deva Neethidass, District Collector inaugurated the exhibition in which 285 students presented their exhibits and teachers prepared nearly 20 stalls and this exhibition became the talk of the town. Because of the request from the parents, the exhibition was extended up to 5th December 2007. On the concluding day, His Grace Most Rev. Dr. Antony Anandarayar presented prize to the students who prepared their exhibits and appreciated and congratulated Fr. Pascal Raj, Vice Principal for taking effort in creating scientific awareness among the primary school students.

             The exhibit “Technology to save Electricity and Fuel” prepared by D. Arularasan of 12th B1 got selected for display at the “Jawaharlal Nehru National Science Exhibition for Children” (JNNSEC) – 2007 which was inaugurated by Her Excellency Mrs. Prathipa Patil, President of India on 27th December 2007.

            Guide Teacher Thiru. P.A. Vincent Raj was honoured on the concluding day by Hon’ble Education Minister Thiru MOHF Shajahan in the presence of Director of Education Thiru Rakesh Chandra.

             Thiru S. Sivakumar and Thiru Christian our school drawing masters were honoured by the director of education for preparing banners in connection with the above science exhibition.
