2002 – 2003
On 15th November 2002 NCC in Pondicherry started the Junior Division Air Wing
. Our school got the chance of enrolling 50 flight cadets. Our Principal Fr.
S. Antonisamy appointed Mr. P T Xavier as the care taker. Classes were held at
NCC Head Quarters, Lawspet. Wing Commander . K. Parthiban, commanding officer
, took all the 50 cadets in the micro light air craft 1000 feet above sea
level, over Pondicherry .
On 6th March 2003 , the selected cadets from our school had an opportunity to
interact with Air Vice Marshall T. S Chatwal, AVSM , SC , VM, Additional
Director General (A), Directorate General of NCC, New Delhi and Commodore P.P.
Singh, VSM, Dy. Director General NCC, Tamilnadu, Pondicherry and Andaman.
2003 – 2004
Air wing cadets attended the combined Annual Training Camp held at
Periakalapet from 16th – 28th July 2003.
Won four out of six events
Essay writing - First and Second place
Quiz competition - First and Second place
Cultural competition - First and Second place
Line area (Best Tent ) - First and Second place
Three cadets attended the Republic Day selection Camp at Cuddalore from 3rd
September 2004 to 14th September 2004.
Cadet S. Mohammed Arafath was selected to attend the Inter Group Camp held at
Trichy from 23rd September 2003 to 4th October 2003 .
Mr. P T Xavier, Secondary Grade Teacher attended Pre-Commission course at Air
Force Administrative College, Coimbatore from 15th September 2003 to 7th
November 2003 . On 7th Nov 2003 P.T Xavier was commissioned as T.O.
He is the first Junior Division Associate officer of Pondicherry state in Air
wing.
On 09 Nov 2003 the ANO met the Lt. Gen. B K Bopanna AVSM, VSM, Director
General NCC, New Delhi when the latter visited the NCC Group Head Quarters ,
Pondicherry . Col N. Venugopal, Group Commander and Wing Commander K.
Parthiban commanding officer for NCC Air Wing were present.
Flight Cadet S. Mohammed Arafath was awarded Best Cadet for the year 2003 by
Pondicherry NCC Group for this outstanding performance in NCC. The gold medal
was given to this cadet by the Chief Minister Thiru N. Rangasamy on 30th
November during the occassion of the 55th NCC Day celebrations at police
ground, Gorimedu.
